homeschool space refresh

designing spaces and organizing is my jam.

i love making warm and inviting spaces in our home and then refreshing them every now and then.

we recently completed our 3rd academic homeschool year and i thought it would fun to refresh our school space to give us a fresh start when we pick things back up in august.

if you follow along on my instagram page, you know that we don't have a separate homeschool room. most of our home is an open floor plan so our school space is shared with our living room.

our setup really works for us without the space feeling cluttered or like we have a classroom in the middle of our living room so with the refresh i decided to concentrate on one specific area, our bay window nook. this little area is tucked in a corner of our living room and one of our favorite spaces to school in. its bright and the lighting is very inviting.

we originally had a large white table in this space with chairs which did work for us but i wanted to create something that gave more cozy vibes and that also doubled as storage.

the first thing i did was search for a small, round table. i wanted something that took up less space and felt more minimal. once it arrived, we built it so that i had a visual of what it looked like in the space. once it was setup, i knew that i wanted to add a bench for seating. so i did some rearranging in my sons bedroom so that i could use the trofast storage bench he had in his bedroom, in our school space instead. with the table and bench in place, i decided to add a small arm chair for myself and that was that. the space was complete!

i added some throw pillows on the bench for comfort and to add some warmth to the space. i still plan on adding some padding to the bench and a throw blanket but that's it!

a simple little refresh that added those cozy and comfy vibes we were looking for.

happy 4th of july y'all time to head out for some bbq'ing and fireworks fun!
